New technology, monument on council docket | News
The City Council of Del City will be discussing some new technology that may be making its way the police department.
The council will consider approving a purchase of a Live Scan Palm and Fingerprinting System to be installed at the William Haskell Police Building.
The scanner costs almost $25,000 and would be installed by Cross Match Technologies, Inc.
Officials say the scanner makes it easy to connect to the State of Oklahoma OSBI system and the FBI when processing suspects.
The council will also consider an expenditure of $15,000 for design, building and placement of a police officer memorial and monument at the police building.
The monument would be constructed in granite.
Council members will also consider the appointment of nominations to the Historical Preservation Board for Ward 3. Those nominations include Roger Epperly and Don Vic, who would both serve four years on the committee.
The city council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 6 p.m.
